How it works

Data that's ready before you land

An eSIM is a phone plan you download instead of a plastic card you swap. Buy it at home, install it in a few minutes, and switch it on when you arrive.

  1. 1. Choose your destination

Search for where you're going and pick a plan card. Every card shows the data, the number of days, and the price — including what happens after a daily cap on unlimited plans.

  2. 2. Pay once

Checkout takes an email address and a card. No account, no subscription, and nothing renews on its own.

  3. 3. Scan your QR code

Your QR code and manual activation code land in your inbox within seconds. Install the plan before you fly, while you have a reliable internet connection.

  4. 4. Switch it on when you land

Turn the travel line on in your phone's settings. Your usual SIM stays in the phone, so calls and texts on your home number keep working.

Will it work on my phone?

Your phone needs eSIM support

iPhone XR/XS and newer, most Google Pixel from Pixel 3, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and a growing list of others. If your Settings app has an “Add eSIM” option, you're set.

Your phone must be carrier-unlocked

A handset locked to a home network usually can't install another operator's plan. Your carrier can confirm and unlock it, often for free.

You need internet access to install

Wi-Fi is the safest option. Cellular data can also work on supported phones and carriers, so install before you travel while you know you're online.

Installing your eSIM

  1. 1Open Settings, then tap Cellular (or Mobile Data).
  2. 2Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
  3. 3Point the camera at the QR code, or tap Enter Details Manually and copy in the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code.
  4. 4Label the plan something like “Travel data” so it's easy to spot.
  5. 5Leave the new line turned off until you land, then switch it on under Cellular.

Your phone must be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked. Keep your usual SIM in the phone — the travel plan installs alongside it.

Common questions

Does my regular number stop working?
No. The travel plan installs as a second line. Your usual SIM stays in the phone — keep it on for calls and texts and use the travel line for data.
When does my plan start counting down?
Most plans start when your phone first connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy. Each plan card and detail sheet states its own trigger.
What does “unlimited” actually mean?
Unlimited plans give you a set amount of full-speed data each day; after that the connection keeps working at a slower speed until the next day. We print that cap and that speed on the card face — you should never have to hunt for it.
Can I get a refund?
If you haven't installed it, yes — we refund what you paid, less the payment processing fee, once the network confirms it was never installed. Once a profile is installed it is tied to your device and can't be reissued, so it isn't refundable. The refund policy page has the detail.
